Residential building and daycare center Am Hainweg

Projects

The newly constructed building, which includes 31 subsidized apartments and a five-group daycare center, forms the southern boundary of the "Am Hainweg" residential quarter in Wiesbaden-Nordenstadt.

The staggered architectural design optimizes natural lighting and creates a clear spatial separation between the various areas of use. At the same time, the tiered building structure provides effective visual and sound insulation, enhancing the interaction between the residential units and the daycare center.

In the newly developed Linde-Quartier residential area in the Mainz-Kostheim district, 172 rental apartments have been constructed, including 162 subsidized units, distributed across three apartment buildings.

To avoid the typical monotony of linear building designs, a rhythmic facade relief was introduced. Overlapping, shingle-like projections articulate the facades both horizontally and vertically, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow.

We are pleased to have received an honorable mention in the urban and landscape design competition in Wuppertal.

In collaboration with Hille Tesch Architekten+Stadtplaner and AO Landschaftsarchitekten, we have developed a sustainable, socially balanced residential area that seamlessly integrates with its surroundings. Flexible construction phases, comprehensive climate adaptation measures, and an innovative open space concept foster resilience and ensure the long-term sustainability of the neighborhood.

Residential Building and Daycare Centre Kastel-Housing Area

Projects

In order to set new standards in Wiesbaden's urban development, GWW developed a sustainable neighbourhood concept for the Kastel-Housing Area in Mainz-Kastel in cooperation with the city planning office and environmental office. New rental housing, office and commercial space, a day-care centre and a multi-storey car park are to be built there in a total of four plots.

We are delighted about our success in the international competition ‘Architects in Residence – 100 Architects for 100 Houses’ in AlUla, Saudi Arabia.

Our competition entry combines a sensitive approach to the region's unique natural and cultural heritage, the integration of the palm grove, and an innovative, green, and sustainable housing concept.

The architecture and its elements merge with the trees, becoming part of the landscape and forming a multilayered, habitable structure of indoor and outdoor spaces. The project is developed from the context and adheres to the rules and principles of the site.

Lectures & Exhibitions

The exhibition „Große Häuser, kleine Häuser“ at the Kunsthalle Darmstadt provided an exciting overview of the 37 buildings that were awarded the four regional plaques by the BDA groups throughout Hesse in 2023.

Our residential building on Wiesbadener Landstraße was featured in the exhibition.
